Southlake’s steak game is no longer just about the big-box chains. You can find a perfect Beef Wellington at CraftWay Kitchen, a place that looks like a strip-mall afterthought, and then walk into a white-tablecloth classic like Bob’s for a bone-in ribeye that arrives exactly as ordered.

The range here stretches from backyard-style BBQ pits to polished teppanyaki shows, and the local secret is that the best cut might come with a side of arugula at a wine bar. That’s the thing about this town: you have to be willing to look past the storefronts.

One bite of the prime rib sandwich at Postino and you’ll know what I mean. So here’s where to go, depending on how much butter you want involved.

I walked into Moxies on a Tuesday evening and was seated immediately. The hostess checked my reservation with a smile. Deven took over from there. Service was sharp, attentive, and never hovering. The food arrived fresh and full of flavor. I ordered the steak, which came cooked to the requested temperature. The glaze leaned sweet, but the char carried it. The room itself is modern and stylish, all clean lines and warm lighting. It feels more like a big-city spot than a suburban one. Restaurant-quality home grilling

Booth Creek Wagyu operates differently than any steakhouse in Southlake. It is a family-owned ranch-to-retail operation. You walk in and the staff greets you like a neighbor. They offered me a free ribeye for being a first-timer. I did not argue. The knowledge here is deep. They walked me through the BC30 Wagyu cuts, explaining marbling and cook times. I took home a ribeye and cooked it on my own grill. It was restaurant quality. The meat was rich, tender, and almost buttery. This is not a place to grab a quick dinner. It is a place to buy the best steak you will grill yourself.

Pacific Table does not market itself as a steakhouse, but the prime rib sandwich is a sleeper hit. I sat at the bar, and Angel took my order. He poured a solid drink and knew the menu cold. The sandwich arrived stacked with thin slices of prime rib, soft bread, and a jus that soaked through. It was messy, savory, and completely satisfying. I stayed for the butter cake dessert. It is unforgettable. Warm, dense, and sweet without being cloying. The room feels warm and inviting, low light and comfortable seating. I left full and already planning my next visit.

Postino is a wine bar, but I found a steak option worth noting. The happy hour draws a crowd, and the staff handles it well. They are friendly and know their pours. I sat on the patio, which has a relaxed vibe. The steak board came out with thin slices, arugula, and crostini. It was light but satisfying. The wine club perks are real. I signed up after one glass. Service throughout the meal was prompt and helpful. If you want a casual steak experience with a good glass of red, Postino works. Just do not expect a traditional steakhouse.

House of Toro feels like a special occasion from the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is anniversary-worthy, all dark wood and soft lighting. The waiter and the chef both stopped by my table. The scallops were perfect, seared and sweet. But I came for the pork chop. It was thick, juicy, and cooked with restraint. The crust had a nice seasoning. At the end of the meal, they brought out cotton candy as a free dessert. It was a playful touch. I left impressed. This is not the cheapest steak in Southlake, but the care shows. I will return.

Eggsquisite Cafe does breakfast and lunch, but their Philly cheese steak sandwich earns a place on this list. The beef comes well portioned, with peppers and a gooey cheese blend. The side of crispy fries holds up. I also tried the chicken cordon bleu. It arrived hot, well-seasoned, and generously filled. Service stands out here. The staff are attentive, and the food arrives fast. The outdoor seating is clean and comfortable. I finished with the Monte Cristo sandwich. It was balanced and delicious, with just enough sweetness. Nothing fancy. Just solid food done right. That counts for a lot in Southlake.

I smelled Feedstore BBQ before I saw it. The smoky aroma hit me from the road. Inside, the vibe is pure Texas. The staff greet you like they mean it. I ordered brisket, ribs, and turkey. All three were tender and smoky. The mac and cheese tasted homemade, with a creamy texture and a crispy top. The meal came with free ice cream for dessert. It was a simple vanilla scoop, but it worked. The service is friendly and efficient. This is not a fine-dining steakhouse, but the meat is honest and good. I left full and happy.

Rosebud Steakhouse is a newer name in Southlake. The space feels elegant and open. I sat at the bar, where Alex and Jonathan were working. They knew the menu and helped a first-timer like me choose. I started with the avocado toast. It sounds simple, but it was exceptional, creamy and bright. Then came the steak. It was cooked well and seasoned properly. CraftWay Kitchen surprised me. I did not expect a perfect Beef Wellington in Southlake. The chef nailed it. The pastry was flaky, the beef tender, and the mushroom duxelles savory. The individual serving was generous. I started with the French onion soup, which was rich and cheesy. The sweet potato fries were fantastic, slightly crisp and sweet. My server made good recommendations. They knew the menu and did not push. The room is casual and comfortable. This is not a steakhouse, but the Wellington is a serious contender for the best beef dish in town. I will be back.
