Eating in Colleyville can feel like a samey loop of steakhouses, but the right spots break the mold. You’ve got slick places for a proper date night and then the kind of strip-mall joints where the owner remembers your usual order.

Take Pop & Pour, which converted me from a beer guy to a champagne believer thanks to their absurdly good cookies. That’s the range here, from that bubbly bar to the fiery tantanmen at Kanta Ramen & Thai.

So skip the chain predictability and check out the list below for where the locals actually go.

Great champagne and cookies

Cute decor, perfect photo spot
Knowledgeable staff, solid recommendations

Pop & Pour is the kind of place I didn’t know I needed until I walked in. The owner greeted me like an old friend, and the staff’s recommendations for champagne were spot-on—I’m normally a beer guy, but they converted me. The cookies are warm, buttery, and dangerously easy to polish off. The decor is cute without being kitschy, and honestly, it’s the perfect photo spot if you’re into that sort of thing. I left with a bottle I’d never have picked myself, and I’ve already planned my next visit. It’s playful, unpretentious, and genuinely fun.

Worth a return visit

Walking into Townhouse for brunch, I got a slightly awkward greeting at the host stand—it felt like they weren’t quite ready for me. But then Kylie took over, and everything changed. She was warm, quick with a smile, and genuinely attentive without hovering. The scramblers were fresh, fluffy, and packed with flavor—clearly made with care. The whole vibe settled into something comfortable and easy. By the end, I was already thinking about coming back. That kind of service sticks with you. It’s not perfect at the door, but once you’re seated, it’s a gem worth returning to.

Spot-on pho broth
Friendly, quick service
Fair prices, hefty portions

Daily Bep is my new favorite spot for Vietnamese food in Colleyville. The pho broth is seriously on point—deep, aromatic, and clearly simmered for hours. Portions are hefty, which I appreciate because I hate leaving hungry. Service was friendly and quick, even when the place filled up. Prices are fair for what you get, and trust me, you get a lot. The noodles are cooked just right, the herbs are fresh, and the beef is tender. It’s not fancy, but it doesn’t need to be. It’s honest, comforting, and exactly what I want on a chilly evening.

Chocolate mousse was amazing

Loveria Caffè Taste Of Italy feels like a little escape. The rosemary bread with blueberry vinegar is a wild combo that somehow works beautifully—tangy, herbal, and addictive. The vegan cauliflower linguine was creamy and satisfying, though I’m not vegan. Both chicken dishes I tried were tender and well-seasoned, and the beef pasta had that perfect al dente bite. The chocolate mousse? Pure silk. The service was warm and unhurried, which matched the intimate vibe. It’s a bit off the main drag, but worth seeking out. I left full, happy, and already planning my next order.

Highlights
Disappointing food quality
Overpriced for portions
Poor service experience
Hidden gratuity charge
Will not return

I really wanted to like Next Bistro, but it missed the mark. The food was bland and overcooked, which is disappointing at those prices. Portions were small enough that I stopped for fast food on the way home. Service felt rushed and disinterested, like they were just going through the motions. Then the bill came with a mandatory gratuity that wasn’t mentioned upfront. That left a sour taste in my mouth. I’m not one to trash a place lightly, but this one just didn’t deliver. I won’t be returning, and I’d advise others to manage expectations.

From Across the Pond is a charming little spot that feels genuinely British. The gluten-free options are excellent—I had the fish and chips, and the batter was light and crispy, not at all heavy. The sampler appetizers let me try a bit of everything, and each one was tasty. The owner was welcoming, and the whole place had a cozy, warm atmosphere that made me want to linger. It’s rare to find this level of authenticity and care. Whether you’re gluten-free or not, this place is a winner. I’ll be back for the sticky toffee pudding, if they have it.

Red Barn Bar-B-Que is exactly what you want from a barbecue joint. The smoke hits you the second you walk in, and that’s a good sign. The three-meat plate was generous and delicious—the brisket had a perfect smoke ring and the turkey was surprisingly moist. Sides like the mac and cheese and beans were solid, not afterthoughts. It’s a cozy spot near the airport, so you can grab a great meal before a flight. Real smoke, real flavor, real portions. This is the kind of place that makes you a regular after one visit.

Quiet dining room, easy conversation

NAPA Thai Asian Cuisine is a classy surprise. The food is beautifully plated, and every dish I tried was outstanding. The dining room is warm and quiet, perfect for a date or a slow dinner. Ben, our server, was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The wine list is solid, and the patio looks lovely (though I stayed inside). It’s not the loudest place in town, but that’s what I liked—easy conversation, great food. If you’re looking for refined Thai flavors and a relaxed setting, this is it. I left impressed and completely satisfied.

Istanbul Cuisine is a hidden gem if you’re craving Turkish food done right. The baba ganoush was smoky and creamy, and the beef kabob was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and well-seasoned. The kunefe dessert was the highlight: warm, cheesy, and sweet with that perfect crispy top. Service was genuinely kind, making the whole meal feel personal. Portions are generous, and every dish tasted fresh. The space is simple, but the food speaks for itself. I’m already thinking about the next time I can go back. This place deserves more buzz.

I also tried the olive oil cake, which was light and moist, perfect with coffee. Everything felt thoughtful and homemade. It’s not a huge place, but it has a great vibe. I can see why people come back again and again. I’ll definitely be one of them.

Highlights
Sliders satisfy, but portion small
Delivery canceled without a call
Name promises more than delivered
Good flavor, disappointing portions

Brisket Rules has a name that sets high expectations, and honestly? The sliders are good—smoky, tender, with a nice tangy sauce. But the portion size left me wanting more, and not in a good way. I ordered delivery, and it showed up over an hour late with no call or explanation. That’s frustrating. The flavor is there, don’t get me wrong. But when the name promises something big and you leave hungry and annoyed, it’s a letdown. I’d give them another shot in person, maybe. But for now, the experience didn’t match the hype.

Highlights
Spicy tantanmen packs real heat
Crispy duck ramen wins fans
Friendly staff, speedy service
Takeout stays consistently great
Fried squid legs are addictive

Kanta Ramen & Thai is a quiet surprise. The spicy tantanmen brought real heat—the kind that makes your nose run but keeps you going back for another slurp. The crispy duck ramen is a showstopper, with rich broth and perfectly rendered skin. Service was friendly and fast, even during a busy lunch rush. I also tried the fried squid legs, and they’re addictive—crunchy, salty, and gone in minutes. The dining room is calm enough for easy conversation, but the flavors are anything but quiet. This place deserves more attention than it gets. I’ll be back for that duck, no question.
